Free Community Cyber & Scam Awareness Training

Scams are constantly changing, so it can be difficult to know what to look out for. This free one-hour community session focuses on something more useful: how to recognise when someone may be trying to influence or manipulate your decision-making.

We’ll look at how scammers use trust, fear, urgency, authority and even hope to encourage people to hand over money, information or access. You’ll learn simple ways to slow things down, question what you’re being asked to do, and independently check whether a request is genuine.

The session will cover common scams including romance, investment and impersonation scams, while building practical habits that can help with scams you may never have seen before.

Most importantly, this is not about making people frightened of being online. It is about helping people feel more confident and in control, and knowing what to do if something does go wrong.

No technical knowledge required. Everyone is welcome.
